It is the fourth of July and in a small seaside town in North Carolina there are students saying goodbye to their careless youth. Tonight beautiful Helen has got a title of beauty queen of the graduating year and that’s a reason for a great celebration with close friends on an abandoned beach. When Helen, Julie, Barry and Ray return in a rented BMW to the town, they run down on a deserted seaside road a mysterious pedestrian in a rubber fishing coat. Due to the bloody injuries they could not see his face, he seems to be dead. What to do with the dead body?
